1. Scope and Data Controller
This policy applies to LingoSpeak mobile apps and website services at lingospeak.ai.
This policy explains what personal data we process, why we process it, who receives it, and what choices and rights you have. This policy applies when you use LingoSpeak mobile apps, website, and related support channels.
For the purposes of applicable data protection law, LingoSpeak is the controller for personal data described in this policy.

3. Data We Collect
Depending on product usage and account settings, we process account data, language preferences, practice-call inputs/outputs, subscription status data, and technical diagnostics. We may also process support communications and associated attachments you voluntarily provide.
4. Sources of Data
We collect personal data from:
- You directly, such as when creating an account, selecting languages, or using practice calls.
- Your device and app session, such as app diagnostics and technical telemetry.
- Platform and service providers, such as Apple identity and subscription status signals.

- Authenticate users and secure account access.
- Provide language-practice calls, transcription, AI coaching, and voice playback.
- Verify subscription access and prevent billing abuse.
- Monitor reliability, debug failures, and improve latency and product quality.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on:
- Contract: to provide the service you request, including subscriptions and core app features.
- Legitimate interests: to secure, operate, and improve service quality and reliability.
- Consent: where required, such as for permissions or specific optional processing.
- Legal obligation: to comply with applicable laws and lawful requests.
7. Third-Party AI and Service Providers
LingoSpeak uses third-party infrastructure providers to operate core features. For AI conversation features, user input data such as practice-call audio, transcript text, and conversation context is sent to Google Gemini (Google LLC) through LingoSpeak backend systems so responses can be generated. We also use third-party platform services for sign-in, payment processing, and subscription verification.
We require service providers to process data for service operation and with protections consistent with this policy and applicable law.
In the iOS app, we request explicit user permission before first live-call use that sends data to third-party AI processing.
8. How We Share Personal Data
We may disclose personal data to:
- Service providers that host, operate, secure, or support our services.
- Google Gemini (Google LLC) and related processors that handle conversation audio/text to generate coaching responses.
- Platform providers such as Apple for account, subscription, and purchase validation flows.
- Professional advisors, regulators, and authorities where legally required.
- A successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or asset transfer.
9. Billing and App Store Data
App Store payments are processed by Apple. LingoSpeak does not receive full payment card details. We do process subscription and entitlement status data needed to grant or revoke access.
10. International Data Transfers
Depending on your location and where our providers operate, personal data may be processed outside your home jurisdiction. Where required, we use safeguards appropriate to the transfer.
11. Data Retention
We retain personal data only as long as needed for product operation, security, dispute handling, and legal compliance. Retention windows may differ by data category and legal requirements.
When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify account-linked data except data that must be retained for legal, tax, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution obligations.

- Access and correction: contact us to request account data access or corrections.
- Deletion: you can initiate account deletion in-app from account settings. This removes account records and associated service data that we are not legally required to keep.

14. Children
LingoSpeak is not intended for children under the age required by local law. If we learn we collected personal data from a child where prohibited, we will take steps to delete it.
15. Automated Processing and AI Outputs
LingoSpeak uses automated AI processing for transcription, language coaching, and speech generation. Outputs may be inaccurate or incomplete and should not be relied on as legal, medical, or other professional advice.
16. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The website may use cookies or similar technologies necessary for core website functionality and service performance. Browser controls may allow you to limit cookie storage, but disabling some cookies can affect site behavior.
